(Fr: BOOP aigue). AFOP is a pathologic pattern, which manifests with localized or dense diffuse pulmonary opacities and an OP-pattern with alveolar fibrin balls on pathology. AFOP can cause acute respiratory failure and an ARDS picture. See also under Ic, XVc, XVd and at PMID: 12204055
