Aminorex

This anorectic drug was recalled in the 1960s, following an epidemic of pulmonary hypertension in young ladies (PMID 21531521, 21764154). The antihelminthic levamisole is currently (2013) found in most street cocaine samples. this adulterant is biotransformed into aminorex by mammals. Vigilance is warranted.
